Waiting on the Lord...
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. (Is 40:31)
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the Lord our God,
Until He has mercy on us. (Ps 123:2)
Waiting on the Lord… What does this mean? Evidently to “wait on the Lord” here means to look eagerly for the Lord. If we do look to Him in faith, patiently trusting Him to answer us as we study His Word and yield to His Holy Spirit with prayer doing all we know to do, then He will give us the answer through this promised strength in the heart.
My soul and spirit will mount up with wings like eagles, I will run the race of faith and not be weary and I will walk in His Spirit and not faint, if I just wait on the Lord, forsaking my own wisdom and will. May our God grant His marvelous grace in the waiting...
Therefore I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb 12:1-2 )
Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Ps 27:14)
